For Jen Pattinson, clay satisfies a need for immediacy and physicality in expression. It is a medium that provides both a meditative and a fully energized, active engagement with the artistic process. Pattinson’s work varies from rough, cracked, and raw to refined and technical. While attention is paid to form, both sculpture and vessel are a canvas for expression.
