John Climenhage

For 20 years, John’s landscape painting has drawn from the practice of ‘plein air’ field painting. Back in the studio, he experiments with post-modern approaches to the development of abstract spaces based on contemporary philosophy and quantum physics. His bold painted sketches lifted from the landscape translate into an abstraction of the wilderness with multiple views and memories of the land, sky and water. John teaches and exhibits throughout Ontario. His work is held in both public and private collections including the Art Gallery of Peterborough.
