Private: Arnold Zageris

Arnold Zageris has won many awards for his work and has exhibited in public and private galleries across Canada including, the Art bank of Canada, the Canadian Museum of Contemporary Photography, the Canadian Museum of Nature, the Robert McLaughlin Gallery in Oshawa, and The Rooms in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. He is the author of two books: ‘On the Labrador’ 2013 and ‘Antarctica’ 2016. His upcoming book “Iceland, Born of Lava, Chiselled by Ice” is slated to be published in the fall of 2020.

“Arnold Zageris first came to me as a student in a Cibachrome color printing workshop at the Maine Photographic Workshop in the summer of 1989.  It was immediately evident that his photography was advanced beyond any student I had ever encountered. He had clearly mastered the techniques involved in using the large format (4 x5 ) camera and exposing colour transparency films.  I was shocked to hear that he only exposed one sheet at each scene to control expenses yet, all were exposed impeccably.  Beyond technique the quality of the imagery itself was outstanding.
