Big congratulations to Andrew Ihamaki, AGP Education Program Coordinator, who has taken on a temporary role as Community Programs Coordinator – Sport & Fitness!
If you’ve taken part in an AGP program or tour, participated in the Kawartha Autumn Studio Tour, or experienced the work of our Youth Art Mentorship Program, chances are you’ve felt Andrew’s impact. He brings a calm, positive, and deeply supportive energy to his work, and plays a big role in how our community connects with art and ideas.
"I am incredibly excited to be joining this new team within the @ptborecreation Parks and Cultural Services Division of the City of Peterborough in this temporary but meaningful new venture. This opportunity represents a wonderful chance to deepen my roots in the community and nurture my passion for sport in addition to arts and arts education. Having played hockey, baseball, and football throughout my life, I know firsthand the power that sport has to build community and foster belonging, which are values I have always championed in the arts as well. I look forward to bringing all of that to this new chapter."
We’re so excited to see him step into this temporary role, and we know he’ll bring the same thoughtful approach to everything he does next.
Join us in congratulating Andrew and cheering him on in this next chapter!

Tyler Durbano`s "Traces" invites us to look more closely at the landscapes we move through, and the subtle marks we leave behind.
Through analog photography and drawing, Durbano explores the space between presence and absence, tracing quiet gestures of movement, desire, and refuge across suburban and rural environments. Rooted in slow observation, their work maps what often goes unnoticed: paths worn into grass, fleeting encounters, and the layered histories held within a place.
At once intimate and expansive, Durbano offers us a way of seeing grounded in sensation, memory, and lived experience, foregrounding queer spatiality as something both deeply personal and collectively felt. On the final day of the exhibition, visitors are invited to join us for an Artist Talk & Tour with Tyler Durbano: March 29 at 11:30 AM.
Visit Tyler Durbano | Traces at the Art Gallery of Peterborough until March 29, 2026.

It is with mixed emotions that we share that Dorothea Hines, AGP Gallery Operations Coordinator, has recently taken on a new role as Library Services Manager with the Peterborough Public Library @ptbolibrary
Since joining the Art Gallery of Peterborough in 2020, Dorothea has been a valued member of our team. Over the past five years, she has played an important role in supporting the Gallery’s day-to-day operations and helping bring our exhibitions and programs to life for artists and community members across the region.
Dorothea also worked closely with the Gallery Shop, bringing a thoughtful eye to the selection and presentation of work by the many artists it represents, and fostering meaningful relationships with the artists whose work is featured there.
While we will miss Dorothea here at the Gallery, we are thrilled to see her step into this exciting new role within Peterborough’s cultural community. Please join us in congratulating Dorothea and wishing her every success as she begins this next chapter with the Peterborough Public Library!

Happening this weekend! Join us at the AGP on Saturday, March 7 for an artist-led conversation with Cole Swanson and Scott Rogers. These artists will respond to Swanson’s solo exhibition Lithic Life (on view at the AGP until March 29, 2026).
Lithic Life is a mid-career survey of Swanson’s material and ecological investigations into geology, landscape, and pigment making. Drawing on the rich mineral diversity just north of Peterborough, the exhibition brings together panel paintings, mineral pigments made from materials gathered in the region, documentation of ephemeral rockface murals, and a site-specific natural-colour work created from the gallery’s own surroundings — work that reveals deep time and the material histories embedded in the land.
Rogers’ installation Mutualism (Fixed Assets), on view at the Robert McLaughlin Gallery in Oshawa until April 12, takes the form of a site-responsive bird feeding station assembled from foraged broken automobile parts. Rooted in his interest in human infrastructures that care for non-human life, the work gestures toward ecological renewal emerging from industrial leftovers.
Presented in partnership with The Robert McLaughlin Gallery, Swanson and Rogers will explore the connections and questions raised by their practices in this rich interorganizational exchange.

Free + open to all.
We strive to be a scent-free facility, please help us keep the air we share fragrance-free.
