Living Traditions Sewing Circle with Talia Metuq and Oleepika Nashalik
Saturday, October 4, 2025 | 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Join artists Talia Metuq and Oleepika Nashalik for a sewing circle celebrating the beauty and use of traditional materials such as beads, hides, and fur. Learn about the preparation and use of sealskin, and learn about designs passed down through generations. Participants will have the opportunity to complete a small project using sealskin. You are also welcome to bring your own sewing projects to work on or materials to exchange with others in this shared creative space. The artists welcome mothers, daughters, grandmothers, elders, aunties, friends, and anyone interested in learning from each other in the practice of stitching and storytelling across cultures and generations.
Location: Art Gallery of Peterborough
Free to attend. No experience needed but registration is required. Space is limited. Please call the AGP at 705 743 9179 to reserve a spot.
