Summer Art Camp
Join us for a summer filled with fun and creativity!
During the months of July and August we offer weekly camps that explore a wide variety of media and techniques, from painting and drawing to sculpture and stop-motion animation, and everything in between.
All of our programs emphasize creative exploration in a lively, fun, and supportive atmosphere and are led by our experienced art education team.

Art Fundies
July 7 – 11, 2025
Afternoons, Monday to Friday, 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm
Suitable for Ages 7 to 11
Flex your creative muscles and learn a new artistic skill in this week-long, half day camp. Campers will build a strong foundation of artistic skills and techniques as they learn the basics of art making through drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture and more in this fun, exploration-based program.

My Summer Fun 1
July 14 – 18, 2025
Afternoons, Monday to Friday, 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm
Suitable for Ages 4 to 6
Portraits and landscapes and sculptures, oh my! This week-long, half day program is great for children looking to explore their creativity. Campers will create funky portraits, nature-inspired artworks, and experiment with painting, mixed-media sculptures, and collages.

Make Your Mark
July 21 – 25, 2025
Afternoons, Monday to Friday, 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm
Suitable for Ages 7 to 11
Ready, set, print! Campers will learn and experiment with a variety of printmaking techniques to create their very own zines, stamps, and a portfolio of printed works in this week-long, half day program.

My Summer Fun 2
July 28 – August 1, 2025
Afternoons, Monday to Friday, 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm
Suitable for Ages 4 to 6
Travel through time with the Art Gallery of Peterborough! Each day offers a new adventure in time, exploring different artistic techniques from the stone-age to the present. Campers will learn skills in weaving, pinch pot pottery, and co-operative art making in this week-long, half day program.

The Art of Storytelling
August 5 – 8, 2025
Afternoons, Monday to Friday, 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm
Suitable for Ages 7 to 11
Combine storytelling and art in this imaginative half-day camp. Inspired by our favorite books, fictional characters, and our own stories and imagination, campers will learn the art of storytelling and bring their own characters to life as we explore bookmaking, drawing, sculpture and painting techniques.

Totally Textiles
August 11 – 15, 2025
Afternoons, Monday to Friday, 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm
Suitable for Ages 7 to 11
Campers will explore different fabric arts, including sewing, dyeing, and weaving. They’ll create their own stuffed characters, colorful textile artworks, woven bookmarks, and wall hangings, and learn about the cultural significance of textiles along the way.

My Summer Fun 3
August 18 – 22, 2025
Afternoons, Monday to Friday, 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm
Suitable for Ages 4 to 6
Imaginations will soar in this week-long, half-day camp where every day is a new art adventure. Campers will create colorful animal masks, experiment with printmaking, and make whimsical puppets and expressive self-portraits.

Stop-Motion Animation
August 25 – 29, 2025
Full Day, Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm
Suitable for Ages 7 to 11
Lights, camera, action! Campers will explore the art of storytelling, character development, and different animation and stop-motion techniques to create their own characters and short films. Build your character, story, and setting all week long and celebrate the grand finale with a short movie premiere.
