Celebrate your child’s next birthday at the
Art Gallery of Peterborough!
It can be a challenge to find unique and fun ways to celebrate your child’s birthday, but the AGP has come up with several fun ways to celebrate together. Birthday packages from the AGP are guided by an AGP art instructor and include materials, as well as both in-person and virtual options.
Step 1: Choose your Birthday Party Workshop
MONSTER PORTRAITS
In this monstrously cool workshop, you’ll work together to create one-of-a-kind monster mashups, then bring your monsters to life with a painted portrait that’s sure to be SPOOK-tacular.
BRILLIANT WATERCOLOURS
Learn and experiment with various watercolour techniques to create a colourful flipbook. Then use your skills and creativity to make your very own one-of-kind wax-resistance watercolour masterpieces. You’ll be sure to have lots of fun in this vibrant workshop where colour is key.
CUSTOM THEME
We will work with you to develop a workshop that caters to the interests of the party-goers, and/or to meet a specific theme of your choosing.
Step 2: Choose “In-Person” or “Virtual” Workshop Options
Option 1: In Person
What’s included?
- 1hr access to the studio (30 mins before and after program):
- 30mins prior for set-up and decorations.
- 30mins after for packing and clean-up
- 1.5hrs for guided art activities (along with all the materials needed) led by an experienced AGP Art Educator. We can also include a guided tour of our Current Exhibitions that’s sure to inspire.
- 30mins for presents and refreshments (either after or between studio activities)
Cost: $175 for up to 8 children ($10 per child after that, to a maximum of 12).
AGP members get 10% off.
Option 2: Virtual
What’s included?
- 1hr guided online art activity led by an AGP art instructor
- Activity kits for each participant, which includes all the essential materials needed for the activity.
Cost: $150 for up to 8 children ($10 per child after that, to a maximum of 12).
AGP members get 10% off.

General Information
- A minimum of 30 days advanced booking and pre-payment is required for all Birthday Party Packages to ensure instructor availability and materials.
- Adult Supervision is required for all programs, with a minimum of one individual over the age of 18 remaining with the group at all times.
- Parents/Guardians are responsible for decorations, presents, refreshments, cutlery, etc.
- Parents/Guardians are responsible for returning the facilities clean and in good repair.
- For Virtual Workshops:
- Parents/guardians are responsible for pick-up and distribution of the kits.
- A dedicated space to make art is required, as some activities may be messy.
- Parents/Guardians to supply basic household materials such as scissors, stapler, rulers, etc. as needed.
