Curated by William Kingfisher. Essay by William Kingfisher.

jiigbiig: at the edge where the water and the land meet creates a collaborative forum to explore the importance of clean water. In the contemporary world, clean water has come to be a vitally important issue. A recent United Nation General Assembly declared that safe and clean drinking water and sanitation is a human right; at the same time, there are reports of 133 Indigenous communities across Canada who do not have drinkable water due to contamination. jiigbiig features work by Vanessa Dion Fletcher, regional Elders and traditional knowledge holders gathered in the process of researching the importance of clean water.
