Wild/Tame is an exhibition of disturbing yet beautifully drawn and painted contemporary POP/Surrealist works on panel, canvas, and paper by Michael Caines from the last decade of the his uncanny and allegorical, animal-themed oeuvre. Drawing from a variety of literary and art influences, Caines’ sequential narratives use the idea of the figure in limbo, which works as a device for the artist to dislodge iconic characters from their conventionally understood habitats.
