Join us for a day of hands-on artmaking designed for young artists ready to explore new techniques and ideas.
This month’s program focuses on monotype and experimental printmaking, where participants will play with layered colour, stencils, and texture to create one-of-a-kind prints. Guided by our art educators, the day encourages creative risk-taking, skill-building, and plenty of room to experiment.

Opening this weekend: JoEllen Brydon | Elizabeth Thompson Advises at the Art Gallery of Peterborough!
In this exhibition, JoEllen Brydon draws from the archive of her mother, Jean Armstrong Brydon, who wrote as “Elizabeth Thompson” for The Globe and Mail from 1966 to 1978. A thoughtful and progressive voice, Jean’s columns captured deeply personal stories within a broader moment of social change, inviting readers into reflection and dialogue. Through painting and multimedia installation, Brydon revisits these materials to explore the complexity of lived experience and the narratives we construct, both for others and for ourselves.

Our Portfolio Prep for Young Artists is a hands-on, four-week program designed to help artists (ages 11–14) build a portfolio they feel proud of.
Working alongside practicing artists, participants will develop new skills, experiment with different approaches, and learn how to present their work in a way that reflects both creativity and technical ability. Build confidence, learn to take creative risks, and create work that stands out.
