NEW work in the Gallery Shop!
Check out this gorgeous piece by local artist Cydnee Hosker. Recently, Hosker has been using a blind contour technique, filling in the composition with watercolour paint. In this piece, she creates a still life of Beam Paints, using Beam Paints!
We`ve got more work by Cydnee and lots of watercolour paint and paint sets from Beam Paints in the Shop. Check out both on your next visit!
The Gallery Shop is open Wednesday to Sunday, 11:00 am – 5:00 pm.

About Cydnee Hosker:
Cydnee considers herself a painter, an experimental photographer and a printmaker, with a leaning toward mixed media. She has a fascination with layers, textures, and the ethereal landscape of shape, line, pattern, and, above all, colour. More recently, Cydnee has embraced the world of watercolour, exploring traditional and unconventional applications of the medium. She has come to the conclusion, watercolour has a mind of its own and as a result is endlessly fascinating.
About Beam Paints:
Beam Paints is the result of a multi-generational love of pigment, paint, colour, and innovation. Anong Beam was raised by my artist parents, Carl Beam and Ann Beam, and was taught from a young age how to harvest hematite pigment in the LaCloche mountain range near our home in
M`Chigeeng First Nation on Manitoulin Island.

“I share my short time with trees, hills, grasses, sky, and all the living things; with all that is around me and without which I would not exist.
I sit and paint realizing my life is also just a moment squeezed between the light years passed and the light years ahead I will never see. We are immersed in a web of all things within a moment of time, a glimpse.” – Laurie De Camillis, 2025
Laurie De Camillis | Four Seasons, is on view at the Art Gallery of Peterborough until June 22.

About the Exhibition:
Through found objects, assemblage, and layered narratives, Dr. Spencer J. Harrison and curator Lucas Azevedo Cabral create a fictional museum that imagines queer history as abundant and visible. By presenting queer narratives as vibrant, messy, and beautifully incomplete, The Museum of Closetry invites viewers to reflect on what it means to belong, to remember, and to make space for the stories that history has tried to hide.
