Message from the Director
I’m happy to share that 2025 has brought some exciting opportunities for gallery staff and as a result, you’ll see some familiar names in new roles, and a new friendly face at the front desk.
Andrew Ihamaki, Education Programming Coordinator, began an educational leave in January to complete his Master of Arts Leadership at Queen’s University, and Laura Thompson, Visitor Services, has accepted a temporary 1-year position of Service Peterborough Representative with the Strategic Communications and Service Division at City Hall. Congratulations to both!
To support these exciting and enriching experiences, Dorothea Hines has accepted the temporary role of Education Programming Coordinator while Andrew is on leave, vacating her permanent role of Gallery Operations. Tess Kelsey has accepted the temporary role of Gallery Operations Assistant until Dorothea’s return. You’ll continue to receive Tess’s warm welcomes at the front desk where she’ll be joined by Nevan Hinks who has just accepted a temporary role in Visitor Services until Laura’s return.
Nevan has a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree from the University of Guelph where she focused on printmaking and art history and gained an appreciation for the intersection of art and community engagement. She brings a wealth of experience working within the contemporary arts, administration, and customer service. Nevan will join our team, connecting our community to the artwork in our exhibitions, programs, and gallery shop with her knowledge of contemporary art and studio practices across a variety of mediums and techniques.
Welcome to the gallery, Nevan!
