Tours & Workshops for School Groups

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we are unable to offer in-person programming for school groups at this time. Please continue to check back with us for news and updates about in-person programming.

Program Options:

Based on the Current Exhibitions at the Art Gallery of Peterborough, we offer curriculum-linked learning based in an interdisciplinary approach. Our exhibition tours and activities are designed to stimulate curiosity and understanding in the interpretation and making of art from a variety of perspectives.

All ages and grades welcome.

Option 1 – Minds-on & Virtual Tour:

We will meet your class on the platform of your choice (Google Meets, Zoom, etc.) to offer an exhibition tour. Tours centered around the artworks on display or in our Permanent Collection, but can be customized to meet specific learning goals and themes. This option provides you with a detailed lesson plan for a 15-minute minds-on activity to prepare your class for the exhibition tour.

Tours last approximately 30 minutes, but can be extended to 45 minutes to allow for more in-depth Q&A sessions.

Cost: $6/student (minimum $120 per group)

Option 2 – Minds-on, Virtual Tour, & Guided Workshop:

Same as option 1, with an AGP instructor to lead your class through a guided art making workshop. These workshops teach fundamental techniques and explore the artistic practices of the artists presented and discussed on the exhibition tours.

Workshop types vary, and last approximately 30 minutes. Basic materials are provided. Workshops can be completed on the same day as the tour or scheduled for another day to fit your busy classroom schedule.

Cost: $10/student (minimum $200 per group)

Please note:

  • Teachers are responsible for pick-up and distribution of the materials
  • Teachers will need to supply basic classroom materials such as scissors, tape, glue, staplers, rulers, etc. as required
  • Advance booking and pre-payment is required
    • We require a minimum of 3 weeks notice to ensure instructor availability and materials
