The Waterway Project
Parks Canada’s Trent Severn Waterway and the Art Gallery of Peterborough present The Waterway Project, a special outdoor art installation by Kawartha Autumn Studio Tour Artist Christy Haldane.
Haldane uses concrete, wood and steel to echo the materials of the locks themselves to represent control and containment of the environment, while the transparency, fluidity, and blueish hue of water is suggested in the glass.
To view the artworks, follow Nassau Mills Road (County Rd 32) north of the city of Peterborough and/or River Rd. south from the village of Lakefield. The five sculptures are located along the Otonabee River at Lock Stations 22 to 26, and are on display from July 15 to October 7, 2012.
