Board of Directors and Fundraising & Development Committee

Application Deadline, now extended to: Tuesday, April 16, 5:00pm

The Art Gallery of Peterborough (AGP) is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2024, and there are many accomplishments to celebrate! It is a wonderful time to join our Board of Directors.

In March 1974, the AGP was incorporated as a not-for-profit charitable organization “to establish an art gallery in the City of Peterborough to preserve, maintain, exhibit, and display works of artistic interest.”

In 1977, the AGP’s Board expanded on these aims and objectives: “This gallery recognizes that, in a changing environment, its role is not static, but must be open to change; that it must reach out to its community; that it must be both a permanent institution and a ‘museum without walls.’”

What followed was fifty years of doing exactly that. The AGP has continued to showcase the extraordinary art produced by artists from within our community and beyond, and offer enriching educational experiences for all ages. Even more, it has continued to build a strong collection that reflects the vibrancy of our community, while keeping pace with emerging currents in the practice of contemporary art.

Invitation to Apply

We are seeking applicants to join the AGP Board and/or the Fundraising & Development Committee. Successful candidates will serve as ambassadors for the organization, and offer leadership, insight, and support as members of the Board of Directors and/or the Board’s committees.

The AGP is actively committed to creating an equitable, diverse, and inclusive community, and encourages applications from all qualified candidates. The AGP especially welcomes applications from members of equity-seeking communities, including racialized and Indigenous persons, persons with disabilities, and persons of all sexual orientations and gender identities/expressions.

Apply with a letter of interest and resume through our online portal by Tuesday, April 16, 5:00 pm.
