John Boorman
About the Artist:
John Boorman is a carver and contemporary artist who brings humour to the wildlife, flora and fauna of Canada. John studied Industrial Design at the Ontario College of Art and pursued his career internationally in product design and retail store design. His appreciation for craft was strongly influenced while working abroad and his strong colour choices reflect an influence of Folk Art worldwide.
“My use of colour has always been vibrant and sensual or subtle and inviting depending on the subject, the mood, and the moment. All things considered, the more humorous of my pieces tend to be more colourful and whimsical while the more serious pieces lean more toward colours from nature itself.” — John Boorman
