Mary McLoughlin

Mary McLoughlin graduated from the Fine Arts Studio Program at the University of Toronto. She became a painter and illustrator of children’s books as well as receiving her Bachelor of Education at OISE. Since 1995 her art has revolved exclusively around painting. Mary has maintained a private studio in downtown Peterborough since 1997. She exhibits and sells her paintings regularly.

She writes, “My paintings focus on large and close-up partial and full images of flowers and other plant life. Painting these forms is for me a meditation on the passive fragility of living things on our planet, and also the strength of the regenerative force of life cycles.”
