“The ache for home lives in all of us, the safe place where we can go as we are and not be questioned.”
― Maya Angelou, “All God’s Children Need Traveling Shoes,” 1986

This exhibition brings together works from the AGP Permanent Collection to evoke a sense of home. Charles Dickens has called the word “home” a magic word, capable of strong conjurations. The places we have come from, seek shelter at, and find comfort in are as personal and unique as they are universal. From a bag of onions to a familiar garden gate; from a family portrait to a window thick with the condensation of simmering dinner, and a journey to Grandmother’s house, these works summon our own memories of the places we’ve found warmth and comfort.

Regular Hours: Wednesday to Sunday from 11 am to 5 pm. Admission is by Donation.
