About the Artist:

Lucie Lemieux-Wilson studied fine art at l’Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Montréal, QC, and Fleming College in Peterborough, ON.  She has participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions in both Ontario and Quebec and her artwork can be found in private collections in Canada and abroad.

“I can’t seem to satisfy my thirst for nature. It is my source of inspiration when I paint, so I take every opportunity to immerse myself. Daily walks in the countryside surrounding my home, cycling, frequent canoe trips in the wilderness of Northern Ontario, and numerous trips across our Canadian landscape and abroad have allowed me to focus on those unique elements in nature that capture my interest. Through observation and personal interpretation, I am able to create art pieces that satisfy my need to use bold colours and simplified shapes. Since moving to Peterborough with my family, I have attended numerous art classes at SSFC and workshops by well-known artists such as Lila Lewis-Irving, Brian Smith and Bryan Atyeo and have also had the opportunity to be mentored by well-known local artists, Roberta Rowland-Patterson and Neil Broadfoot.” – Lucie Lemieux-Wilson
