watercolour painting of ice floats in water

Early Spring at the “Gut,” 2018, watercolour on paper, 26″ x 32″

About the artist:

Lucie studied Occupational Therapy, at the Universite de Montreal, and then went on to study art at l’Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Montreal and Fleming College in Peterborough.

“I paint the natural world in a simplified and abstracted style. While painting on location, I use watercolour, working in a small format to capture the feeling and then complete larger pieces when back in my studio. I observe and paint very small elements of nature, leaves and grasses, and winter ice formations.” — Lucie Lemieux-Wilson
